Baby Gender Reveal!

We wanted to find out the gender of our baby a little early so we went to Salt Lake over the 4th of July when my parents were there and went to Fetal Foto.  We had the ultrasound tech put the gender in an envelope and got to find out with a bunch of family and friends later that afternoon.  It was such a fun day and I am so glad we got to share it with so many people who love us and are so excited for our baby.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Watch the video Uncle Adam took!

Our little gender reveal party was so much fun!!  We did it at Trudie's house so the kids could play in her pool, but of course, after like a month and a half of no rain and fires all over UT and CO, it RAINED the day of the party!  We did it inside and it worked great still.  Grama Joan made Cafe Rio salads and they were really yummy, almost like the real thing!  My parents and Ryan came with us to the ultrasound that morning and baby girl was moving around like crazy!  It was fun to see her even though we didn't know she was a she then!  We told the u/s tech we didn't want to know the gender right there so she had us all close her eyes while she found the baby and then let us look and see her cute little face and profile, hands, and little body.  Then she had us close our eyes again so she could find her little feet.  They were so cute and tiny!  Then we all closed our eyes again while she went to look for the gender.  I was nervous baby wouldn't cooperate but the tech said this baby definitely wanted us to know what she was!  Probably because we've been calling her a he this whole time....poor girl!  The tech said it was very obvious and she was certain she had the right gender.  That sort of made us think it was a boy since that is more obvious than girl.  But that was wrong!  It was torture for poor Greg to have to wait two hours to find out.  We didn't leave him (or anyone else) alone with the envelopes that gave it away.  My mom and dad took them to the balloon store and the Sweet Tooth Fairy for cupcakes while Greg and I helped my grama with the food.  It was such a fun day and I am so glad we did it this way!

My favorite thing was when my little cousin Bubba asked me, "Are you having a baby girl?" and I said "Yes!" and he says "Well where is she?" He's so cute and funny!

Thanks to my mom for planning and Ali for making that cute surprise box for the balloons, Trudie for hosting at her house, and Grama Joan for making everyone yummy Cafe Rio!
